Ever since the early years of the century when the company began making
handrails for the first Birmingham tramcars,
Gabriel & Company Ltd
has had a long illustrious link with the passenger transport industry.
Gabriel & Co have been an approved supplier to the railway industry
for over eighty years. We are now one of the largest manufacturer in
the United Kingdom of handrails, grab poles, luggage racks and similar
bodywork fittings.
 In
recent years we have completed many majors contracts for railway
operators in Europe, Asia and Africa including Eurostar, KCRC Hong Kong
and various London underground projects. Our most recent projects have
been the
refurbishment of the Docklands Light Railway cars and additional rails
for the Croydon Tramlink.
The company's pedigree and expertise has meant that it now supplies
the UK's leading coach, bus and minibus manufacturers. The company has
achieved some notable "firsts" in handrail design and manufacture. It
was the first to produce textured grip tubing for greater passenger
safety, together with the largest range of pressure die cast clamp
brackets.

Abro tube is produced from patterned ERW steel
tube. The attractive surface features diamond shaped
indentations to give increased grip, particularly for elderly
and disabled people, together with improved wear of the finished
surface. It fully meets the latest DPTAC handrail requirements
for public transport applications. Safety is improved because
Abro tube is up to 20% stronger than an equivalent plain tube.
Abro tube can be supplied bent to your design and with any of
our wide range of fixing plates welded on, ready for fixing in
position. Assemblies can also be built on site using our
Abro clamp split brackets.
Handrails are usually supplied in a hard wearing nylon or
epoxy/polyester finish. Standard colours include black, white,
red, orange, yellow, blue and green. Other colours are available
to special order, or handrails can be supplied uncoated for you
to paint to your own requirements.
We carry stocks of all standard items and both types of tube
in 30mmų and 35mmų with a wall thickness of 1.5mm or 2mm.

Abro clamps have been specially designed for
building safety and attractive tubular handrail assemblies to
your own design.
Abro clamps are strong - they are made from fully heat treated
LM25 aluminium castings, and can be used with any 30mm & 35mm
diameter tubing. All the clamping heads will fit any base, so
that many different fixing brackets can be built from standard
components.
Assembly of the clamp brackets is quick and easy - place both
halves in position around the tube and tighten up the fixing
screws. These are normally standard M6 cap head machine screws,
locked in position with special nylon seals.

can also provide fabrications on a sub contract basis to
compliment its full manufacturing service.

power coated steel or aluminium to meet your requirements. We

buildings designs.  Our
services to the construction Industry are now only on a materials supply
basis and by providing efficient manufacture and speedy delivery, we can
meet our clients stringent requirements. Although we specialise in
stainless steel metalwork, handrails and balustrades can be produced in
other materials including aluminium and mild steel. Finishes include
satin or mirror polish, polyester/powder coating, galvanised, anodised
infill panels can also be supplied including toughened clear, tinted or
etched glass.
